| BEFORE
THE SUNRISES over the mountains to awaken the ranch,
the music of birds and other singing creatures is interrupted
by thundering hoof beats as horses gallop through the woods.
Finally they appear, chestnuts, blacks, bays, and paints running
toward the corral. The last horse is urged out the pen and the
gates shut. Wranglers' bring the stock along to you. The day
at ACE RANCH 4 SAISONS has begun.
Start off right with a hearty breakfast: The
smell of fresh coffee and homemade biscuits will greet you when
you first enter the lodge in the morning. You may choose to
start the day out with a hearty "stick to your ribs"
breakfast to hold you 'til lunch. Fresh fruit, bagels, and yogurt
are also available for the not-so-big eaters. One special morning
during your stay, wake at daybreak; mount up and ride to a cowboy
breakfast where the staff are busy grilling smoked ham and Dutch
oven potatoes.
Fill up on a lunch made for a Western appetite:
By now the sun is high and it's time for lunch. What a great
time to talk about the day's fun. Once again, the cook will
be ready with more down home cooking to satisfy that hunger
that only enjoying the outdoors can bring.
Relax with serene and scenic trail rides: "Your"
horse will be chosen with your particular needs in mind, so
you can relax and enjoy each ride. The large bluffs surrounding
the ranch inspire awe in all riders. As you ride through or
past the wooded areas, chances are good that you'll catch a
glimpse of some wildlife; deer, fox, and squirrel are among
the creatures seen regularly..
Take to the water on the great River L'Assomption:
Another great place you don't want to miss is the River, and
the best way to see it is to let the river itself quietly glide
you between its magnificent bluffs. You'll be canoeing on water
so clear you can see the fish on the bottom and surrounded by
bluffs so high you may get a kink in your neck from trying to
see the tops. It's a great experience and so much fun your cheeks
will hurt from grinning.
Canadian evenings are for socializing: Another
mouthwatering meal and its time for bed, but wait!! More great
activities are planned for after the sun goes down. Whether
you prefer Sauna & spa under the stars, campfires, moonlight
rides, ice-cream socials, or local entertainment, we have something
to tempt you to stay up just a little while longer. When it
really is time to hit the sack, retire to your comfortable suite
and sleep the sleep that comes after a day of fresh air and
fun.
Spend
some time alone: Several cool springs, cascading streams,
and quiet pools await you on hikes and nature walks. The locals
call the pools "cowboy Jacuzzis", so pull off your
boots and take a dip or just cool your feet. Bring along a pair
of binoculars to spot the many species of birds and the palette
of butterflies that paint the pathways by the water. See the
Indian Totem pole and along the bluffs are there to be explored
and treasure hunt are waiting to be found.
Share
the fun, whether adult or young: While the adults discover
their own adventures, the young ones have plenty to do, too.
A wonderful youth program gives the kids a chance to learn new
crafts, discover plants and animals with an expert and ride
a dependable and child-friendly pony. They'll also have fun
and learn self-confidence, as they become "cowboys".
Of course, you don't have to be young to enjoy this mini ranch,
although it helps to be a child at heart. Everyone is invited
to keep a goat company.
Remember,
it's your vacation: Ace Ranch 4 Saisons is a place
everyone, young or old, can enjoy and where families can share
outdoor experiences. You'll travel back in time to the smells
of leather and livestock; the sounds of the mountains in the
mornings and evenings and association with hard working, friendly
people. You'll experience the West (with a dash of Southern
charm)! If simply relaxing on the porch of your room or sunning
by the spa sounds like your kind of vacation, come on down!
Whatever you do (or don't do!) during your visit, you're sure
to leave happier for having experienced the magic of ACE RANCH

On
a wilderness pack trip, typically a camp is staffed with one wrangler/guide.
The
day's activities will be pursued according to your wishes. The
goal is to have fun.
There
are many activities to pursue on pack trips, including day hikes,
fly fishing (depending on the camp), photography, horseback riding,
singing around the campfire, cooking, wildlife viewing, sketching,
reading, and generally just relaxing and enjoying life.
Those
at the ranch like to stay clean too, but you will get dirty on
a pack trip. Expect it and enjoy it for a few days.
All
camps have streams nearby and most have live springs that produce
clear, clean mountain spring water. Water is drawn from the springs.
It’s cleaner than your municipal water supply.
Everybody
will pack in drinking water. You will take meals sitting around
the campfire with plates on your laps. Food is cooked on the grill
over the campfire.
Guides
put a great deal of effort into making camps comfortable. However,
camps typically have large canvas wall tents that you can stand
up in. All camps are accessed by horseback only, so there is no
way to pack in unnecessary and heavy accoutrements. A six-pack
of beer and a couple of bottles of wine will be packed in for
you to enjoy. |
