What is the schedule of activities?
Our guests have complete flexibility in choosing their daily
schedule - you can make it as action packed or as relaxed
as you like. We offer a wide variety of activities available
to our guests throughout their entire stay.
When is the best
time to come?
This depends on what you are looking for, as each season
has its advantages.
What do you recommend
I bring for the horseback riding?
• Riding helmets are mandatory.
Or if you want to buy one it is available in our gift shop.
• Your foot may slip through the stirrups if you do
not have a heel. Laces up boots are not recommended. We
prefer pull on type boots with a hard sole or heel cowboy
boots are the best and available in our gift shop.
• We keep a good supply of cowboy boots for you also
for kids starting price 49$ also Wrangler jeans and lots
of cowboy hats on hand and many choose of cowboy shirts.
• Jeans or long pants will protect your legs while
riding and are a must.
• The sun can still get intense. Sunscreen, lip-balm,
long sleeved shirt, sunglasses and a well fitting hat are
all appropriate protection from the elements. Stampede strings
for wide brimmed/cowboy hats are a necessity and are available
in our gift shop.
• There are plenty of "Kodak moments" so
bring a camera and film. A small camera is easier to take
on rides than large ones.
• Some people like to have gloves for riding are available
in our gift shop.

Do
you have age and weight limits for the horseback riding?
Minimum age is 6 years for the trail riding. For our younger
guests, the wranglers are happy to lead them on horses around
the corrals. Maximum weight is 450 lbs.
What
type of clothes will I need for my summer trip?
•
We are pretty informal here at the ranch so just bring what
you are comfortable in.
• As well as your riding clothes, you should bring
your shorts and T shirts for the hot weather and most importantly,
don't forget your swimsuits!
• If you plan on hiking, bring appropriate footwear
and small backpack.
• Insect repellant.
• If you plan on fishing and if you would like to
bring your rod and gear its ok. No license is needed to
fish in our stocked pond. To fish off the ranch you can
use artificial lures and flies and a fishing license is
required. We have some fishing gear for younger children.
• Summer weather can be unpredictable, so bring a
jacket and a raincoat.
• Any required medications, bee sting kit or allergy
medicine.
• Binoculars, camera and film.
• If you plan on the camp out bring your sleeping
bag and extra warm clothes.
• There is an alarm clock in your room.

Winter
Possibility of snow from November through March but roads
are always passable.
The best skiing is December through March, closest skiing
area is 10 miles / 20 Kilometers or 15 minutes drive.
What
should I bring on a winter stay?
•
It can get pretty chilly, so pack your warm clothes, long
underwear and wooly socks. Layering is best.
• Bring your swimsuits - remember the spa is 105 degrees
Fahrenheit / 40.5 degrees Celsius .
• Hat and gloves.
• Any required medications or allergy medicine.
• Hairdryer are supplied.
• Binoculars.
• Camera and film.
• If you plan on skiing, bring your ski gear.

What
about TVs and phones?
We
have TVs in each room.
The rooms do not contain phones but with a calling card
you are welcome to use the office phone.
What
about laundry?
There are washers and dryers available in the guest laundry
room along with an iron and ironing board.
Are
pets allowed to be brought to the Ranch?
We
are animal lovers here but unfortunately we cannot allow
pets to be brought along on your visit. For those of you
who may miss your pets we have a petting zoo and a variety
of ranch dogs that would love to fulfill your canine needs.
Is childcare provided? To what extent?
Child
programs start at age 3. We can, however, help locate a
baby-sitter (additional charge) for younger children if
given advance notice.
Is
this a family oriented ranch?
Ranch
is family owned and family operated.
Is
there a minimum length of stay?

During
the "Summer Season" the minimum stay is 2 days.
Or a 7 day or more stay is customary to take advantage of
all the activities such as canoeing, a wilderness ride.
Will
the ranch cater to special diets?
Absolutely.
Just call ahead and we will be happy to accommodate your
needs.
Is
there a place for me to plug in my laptop or have access to
the internet?
Yes
there is.
Will
we see any wildlife?
There
is a good chance of seeing some deer. . . We also have birds;
hawks, doves, songbirds, quail and some times we even see
moose.
What
will the weather be like?
We
can't guarantee the weather, but we can guarantee a variety
of activities, rain or shine. In the summer, days are warm
with nights generally cooler and breezy.

you recommend rental cars?
Not
unless you have planned other activities in the area.
Are
any foreign languages spoken?
Yes
English and French.
Are
riding lessons available?
Yes,
for all ages and experience levels.
Do
I get the same horse all week?
Yes,
unless you request a change.
Can
I brush and saddle my own horse?
Yes.
Do
the owners/managers take part in the riding program?
Yes.

What
kind of riding program does the ranch offer?
When
you arrive our Wranglers will select a horse for you from
our herd of well-broke, experienced trail horses. The head
wrangler bases his decision on the information you provide,
so please be accurate regarding your height, weight and
ability. If we made a good match, you will ride the same
horse throughout the week. We have a variety of trails,
meadows, and programs that will be exciting and challenging
for beginners and experienced riders.
If
you have no experience in riding what will happen? Our Wranglers
will take the time to show you how.
More
experienced riders will enjoy more difficult trails and
some trotting and gallop when appropriate.
Is
smoking permitted?
Yes,
outside only and during breaks while trail riding.
Where
is the Ranch?
We're
located 60 miles north of Montreal. And about 7 miles from
the village of St - Alphonse Rodriguez & about 2 hours
from Quebec City.
